Stream Advisory Rescinded for Salt Creek and the South Fork of the Ninnescah River

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) rescinded its stream advisory for Salt Creek and the South Fork of the Ninnescah River from 540 South Pine Drive, Kingman, to 100th Ave south of Murdoch, Kansas, since the wastewater discharge is no longer a threat. Contact with the water is deemed safe.

The stream advisory is a result of the release of 100,000 gallons of wastewater discharge. City staff have completed cleanup.

KDHE has deemed the river safe for secondary contact (wading) and livestock use.
